On September 25, China Mobile Communications Group announced that from October, China Mobile will reduce their international roaming services of Hong Kong, Tai Wang and foreign countries, with an average drop of 50%, the maximum drop of 80%.
The specific contents of tariff reduction are: China Taiwan reduced to 1.99 yuan / minute, Australia, New Zealand, the United States, France, Switzerland and the Netherlands reduced to 2.99 yuan / minute, text messaging reduced to 0.49 yuan / article. The United States and Taiwan GPRS traffic charges reduced to 0.01 yuan / KB.
The lower-cost roaming charge, will get more Chinese to go abroad for travelling.

China Mobile annouced that they will establish a phone reading center to provide phone reading service with it’s content providers.
Within the collaboration, content providers to provide the right content, China Mobile’s phone reading center to offer a base for operations, technical support and marketing promotion. It is understood that China Mobile and content providers will take a 4,6 into model, that content providers will earn 40% earnings, China Mobile earns 60% earnings.

On Sep.23,stuff of China Mobile said that China Mobile had 80 million phone reading user now, half of China Mobile’s 160 million mobile Internet users. And this 80 million phone reading user contributed 20% – 30% GPRS flow for China Mobile.
In addition, China Mobile plans to invest in the next five years, 500 million yuan, and strive to build China’s largest platform for wireless books.Some days ago China Mobile join hands with Hanwang to launch the first electric paper book of China. And famouse author Yu Dan’s new book is first released on China Mobile’s wireless reading platform. It seems that China Mobile will send great efforts to develop phone reading.

China Telecom annouced that they would cancel the roaming charges since 10/01/2009. With some days early China Unicom annouced the same thing. Two of the three China’s telecommunications operators have cancel the roaming charges. The largest telecommunications operator of China, China Mobile, says that they don’t have the ider to cancel roaming charges yet. But they don’t exclude they will do it later.
Experts say that this decision will help China Telecom and China Unicom to snatch customers from China Mobile. But it perhaps can’t help them to earn much money, because it will reduce their income.
